中國建筑業(yè)協(xié)會成立于1986年10月,當時名為中國建筑業(yè)聯(lián)合會，自1993年第二屆理事會改為現(xiàn)在的名稱，英文名稱為:CHINA CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION。 中國建筑業(yè)協(xié)會是全國各地區(qū)、各產(chǎn)業(yè)部門從事土木工程、建筑工程、線路管道和設備安裝工程及裝修工程活動的企事業(yè)單位、教育科研機構、地區(qū)建筑業(yè)協(xié)會、產(chǎn)業(yè)部門建設協(xié)會，以及有關專業(yè)人士自愿參加組成的全國性行業(yè)組織，是在民政部注冊登記具有法人資格的非營利性社會團體。2009年被民政部審定為AAAAA級全國性行業(yè)協(xié)會。 協(xié)會現(xiàn)有團體會員65個，其中省、自治區(qū)、直轄市和有關城市建筑業(yè)協(xié)會51個，產(chǎn)業(yè)部門和解放軍工程建設協(xié)會14個，直屬會員單位（大型企業(yè)）千余家。
20多年來，中國建筑業(yè)協(xié)會在住房和城鄉(xiāng)建設部、民政部的指導下，認真履行"提供服務、反映訴求、規(guī)范行為"的職能，致力于促進建筑業(yè)又好又快發(fā)展，贏得了政府和企業(yè)的支持和信賴。
中國建筑業(yè)協(xié)會的宗旨是：遵守我國憲法、法律、法規(guī)和國家有關方針政策，按照完善社會主義市場經(jīng)濟體制和構建社會主義和諧社會的要求，聯(lián)合建筑界各方面力量，堅持以服務為宗旨，積極反映企業(yè)訴求，維護企業(yè)合法權益，規(guī)范企業(yè)行為，加強行業(yè)自律，促進建筑業(yè)持續(xù)健康發(fā)展，充分發(fā)揮支柱產(chǎn)業(yè)作用，為全面建設小康社會貢獻力量。
China Construction IndustryAssociation was founded in October 1986 with the name of China Construction Industry Union. Since 1993 in its second Council, it was renamed as China Construction Industry Association(CCIA).
CCIA is a not-for-profit organizationwith corporate capacity and registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MCA),the People‘s Republic of China. As a national industrial organization, itsmembers include enterprises, education and scientific research institutions,local construction industry associations, and construction associations of various industry sectors carrying the businesses of civil engineer,construction engineer, installation project of pipelines and equipment, and decoration around China and across various industrial sectors, as well as related professionals voluntarily participated in the Association.
CCIA now has 65 group members, 51 of which are construction associations of various provinces,autonomous regions,municipalities, and cities while 14 of which are those from industrial sectors and the People‘s Liberation Army of China. It also has more than one thousand direct members (large enterprises).
In more than 20 years, under the guidance of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MHURD) and MCA,CCIA has been committed to promote better and faster development of the construction industry and enjoyed supports and trusts from both governments and enterprises.
In compliance with the Constitution,laws, regulations, and related policies of China as well as requirements for developing the socialist market economy system and building a harmonious socialist society, as a service-oriented organization, CCIA has been dedicated to join forces from the construction sector to represent interests of
the enterprises, to maintain their legal rights, to regulate their conducts, to strengthen industrial self-regulation, and to promote the healthy development of the construction industry, which contribute to the building of a well-off society in a all round way as a backbone industry.
